INNOVATIVE INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY

Recent studies have shown that higher temperatures of at least 100°C are needed in industries like the paper and cardboard industry. Conventional heat pumps, however, have two important limitations that exclude the usage in industrial processes. First, the temperature range is mostly limited up to 70°C. Second, conventional heat pumps are difficult to install and to implement since engineering services from manufacturers are needed for almost every application. Thus, conventional technology is poorly scalable, since distribution is rather time and money consuming. While conventional oil and gas burners reach today’s requirements of producing heat in a reliable way, their energy consumption is high.

ECOP closes this gap by realizing a highly flexible product, saving up to 60% energy costs combined with easy implementation. One Product for almost every application.

Heating above 70°C is the target application for the industrial heat pump. In addition several more, highly interesting applications have already been identified.

SAVE MONEY AND THE ENVIRONMENT

ECOP Industrial has developed a break-through technology for industrial dimensions using a Joule cycle. By using centrifugal forces the pressure and the temperature of the working fluid can be changed in a highly efficient way. Slow flow velocities within the system cause only minimal losses for compression efficiencies of 99,9%. Changes of the rotational speed enable a flexible temperature spread up to 40°C in one stage, allowing the technology to work in a highly flexible way operating at any temperature within the operation range of -20°C up to 150°C. The product needs less input (electrical power) to produce more output (heating or cooling). It is most efficient for companies that are using cooling and heating simultaneously making the usage of heat pumps possible in many industrial processes for the very first time.

Savings

Compared to a 90% efficiency for gas burners, the ECOP heat pump is capable to save up to € 24,000 per year for a 100kW product in industrial usage, resulting in a total saving of almost half a million € over a standard product lifetime of 20 years. In addition to the simple implementation of the ECOP heat pump and its low maintenance cost, ECOP customers will benefit additionally since rising energy costs will boost savings compared to conventional technologies.

In short, ECOP provides the first truly economical and ecological solution which allows convenient heating and cooling independent from outside temperatures. ECOP technology is simply ecophenomenal.
